Summer Book Club offers a structured book club experience for children under the name Summer Book Club. The program includes Summer Book Club events scheduled on July 25, 2026 and August 8, 2026. The Summer Book Club runs during the months of June through August.

Flintridge Bookstore is an independent, family-owned, and community driven bookstore that offers Summer Book Club along with other children’s book clubs for grades 1–3, 4–6, and 7–9 in the fall, and it also hosts author appearances and featured in-store events. The bookstore is La Cañada Flintridge’s one and only bookstore and is led by General Manager and Owner Peter Wannier and Lead Buyer and Owner Lenora Wannier, along with team members in events and marketing, floor management and book buying, school coordination and book buying, accounting and bookkeeping, and bookselling and Espresso Book Machine operations. Back in 2007, Peter had just retired from a long career in astrophysics at JPL and wanted to add value to the community of LCF in a way that would enrich the town for people of all backgrounds and ages. Peter and Lenora state that they love to feel how the community has embraced Flintridge Bookstore, and they are excited to see how the store continues to impact the individuals and families of LCF and its neighbors. Peter has shared that his personal reward is to hear back from customers who tell him how their lives have been affected by something that they found on the bookstore’s shelves.
