Summer at Bishop's offers a wide range of classes, including academic options such as Biblical Literature, Health, Honors Biology Prep, Honors Chemistry Prep, Introduction to the Philosophy of Human Rights, Math 3 Prep, Math 4 Enriched-track Prep Workshop, Study Skills Workshop, The Writer's Voice, Literature and Writing Workshop, Reading Literature: The Workshop, World Religions, Introduction to Middle School English, Middle School Math 1, and Middle School Math 2. Students can also take creative and enrichment classes such as Visual Arts Studio, Anime to Comic, The Art of Making, Center Stage, Collage, Color and Visual Storytelling, Global Chefs, Dance Technique, Choreography and Performance, Marine Biology, Fairy Tales, Myths and Illustrated Stories, Mission Math: Cracking the Code, Money! and Mo’ Money!, Writing Through Animation, Action Painting, Engineering Design, Forensics, Media Literacy and Journalism, Playwriting Through Theater Games and Writing Activities, Speech and Debate, Summer Sports and Games, Hidden La Jolla, LOL: Improv, Musical Theater, Science Lab, Iron Chef Jr., Spray Painting and Graffiti Art, Bishop’s Rocks, Resin Pours, Printmaking, Mixed Media and Modern Abstraction, Writing with Disney, Muggle Magic, Slime, Perspective Drawing, and Shrink, Bake and Melt Art. The program also includes Baseball (Co-ed), Basketball (Co-ed), Field Hockey (Girls), and Flag Football (Co-ed).

• Ages: 9–18 years old
• Schedule: Main sessions run June 8–26, 2026, and June 29–July 17, 2026, with additional Enrichment and Academic Adventures sessions in June and early July; sports camps for baseball, basketball, and field hockey meet in the mornings on specific June and July dates.

The Bishop’s School was founded in 1909. Bishop’s Summer Session provides classes for students in pre-grades 4–12 and offers courses for credit, preparation, review and enrichment through project- and inquiry-based activities and STEM/STEAM options taught by experts in their fields. The program notes that 85% of its faculty hold an advanced degree and that the student-teacher ratio is 9:1. The Bishop’s School is an independent college-preparatory day school affiliated with the Episcopal Church and serves students who live throughout San Diego County. The school reports more than 150 upper school course offerings, 90+ student clubs, 11 affinity spaces for students seeking shared-identity belonging, and that 85% of students play at least one sport each year. The Center for Creative Sciences at Bishop’s empowers faculty and students to be creative, innovative and collaborative.

The mission statement for Bishop’s says that it makes education exceptional, inspirational, relevant and fun, and that Bishop’s is an inclusive community that believes differences are a source of strength. The mission also states a commitment to the pursuit of diversity, equity, inclusion and justice, and to respecting the dignity of every human being, with the goal that all are known, cared for and feel that they belong. Bishop's has won 120 CIF titles, which it notes is the fifth highest among all San Diego schools.
