About
EATSIES offers hands-on cooking classes, cooking camps for kids and teens, hands-on cooking class parties, and online kids’ cooking. Classes take place in a very small setting of 1–4 students and include fun, instructive, and delicious hands-on cooking where guests prepare the entire meal and take home all the food they make. Classes range from the very basics to very advanced, and sample menus listed by The Spruce Eats include dishes such as chocolate lava cakes, Pad Thai with rice noodles and chicken, and homemade grilled flatbreads.
• Ages: 8–18 years old
• Schedule: Classes are approximately 3 hours of hands-on instruction.
• Price: Class prices start at $280 total for 1–4 people, including all food, recipes, and approximately 3 hours of hands-on instruction.
Chef Teri of Eatsies leads the program and hosts custom classes for small groups, including three-hour classes that can accommodate up to four people and are priced per class. Eatsies can also bring a hands-on cooking class party to a family’s home, with Chef Teri packing up the ingredients, tools, and recipes and hosting as many people as desired, for occasions such as weddings or anniversaries, graduations, birthdays, and Mothers/Fathers Day. All of the food prepared in class is for the participants to take home, and families are asked to bring “to go” containers.
The Spruce Eats named Eatsies among the “BEST Cooking Classes” on 02/22/21 and described Chef Teri’s classes as offering options like winter soup classes, dessert parties, all-appetizer sessions, and beginner courses, as well as cooking camps for kids and teens often available in the summertime. In a parent testimonial, Tara N. from La Jolla, CA, reported that her 11-year-old and 14-year-old took two cooking classes each with small groups of friends, for a total of four different classes and 14 different girls, and stated that all the girls had a blast and came home with the confidence and skills to cook the items themselves.
