Surf Diva Kids & Teen Surf Camp offers kids and teen surf camps that include surf lessons and standup paddleboard (SUP) lessons. The program runs as a weeklong summer surf camp and is also offered as Holidays Surf Camp and Spring Break Surf Camp. After school programs are also available through Surf Diva.

Surf Diva Kids & Teen Surf Camp is part of Surf Diva Surf School, which has offered lessons, camps, and rentals since 1996. Surf Diva Surf School offers surfing and standup paddleboard (SUP) lessons year-round for women, men, and children, and runs international, co-ed, corporate, team-building, surf, SUP, kids, veterans, and adaptive programs for people of all ages and abilities. Surf Diva has built a reputation for professional, educated, and passionate surfing instructors.
Surf Diva was founded by twin sisters Izzy and Coco Tihanyi, who started Surf Diva Surf Lessons and Surf Shop in 1996 as the first all-girls surf school. Izzy Tihanyi started surfing at age 8, is a competitive surfer, and began teaching surfing while in college at the University of California, San Diego, while Coco Tihanyi has a business and communication background. Surf Diva is celebrating its 28th anniversary of operation.
The program is guided by a mission to empower people to learn to surf in a fun and encouraging environment while teaching the ways of the ocean, and it states a commitment to providing a safe, inclusive, and educational environment where children of all skill levels can learn to surf. Its child-friendly surf lessons are structured to help young surfers build confidence and skills in the water. Surf Diva, Inc. is also committed to supporting community members and organizations.
Surf Diva Surf School is considered the pillar of women’s surfing. The Surf Diva Boutique was awarded #1 Women’s Retailer of the Year in the US in 2013 by the Surfing Industry Manufacturing Association (SIMA). In 2005, the founders released the surf book “Surf Diva: A Girl’s Guide to Getting Good Waves,” described as the nation’s best-selling surf book, and Surf Diva Surf School has been featured on CNN, The Today Show, MTV, ESPN, MSNBC, KUSI, The Travel Channel, and in outlets such as The New York Times, Vogue, Glamour, Cosmo, GQ, Newsweek, Oprah’s Magazine, and Condé Nast Travel Magazine, with Newsweek describing it as “The Starbucks of surf schools.”
Surf Diva is actively involved in charities and outreach to support the local community and raise awareness to protect the environment. The organization has fundraised for groups including Life Rolls On, National Aids Trust, TOMS Shoes, Freedom Is Not Free, and local schools, and supports programs in San Diego County that focus on education and female-specific organizations in action sports.
