My Baby Swims ISR Self-Rescue Swim Lessons offers ISR swim lessons, survival swimming lessons, and self-rescue swim lessons that focus on specific in-water skills. Children practice the swim-float-swim survival sequence, learn to swim to the wall, and roll onto their back to float during these sessions. The program uses Infant Swimming Resource’s Self-Rescue® approach with personalized, one-on-one instruction from certified ISR instructors.
• Ages: 0–6 years old
• Schedule: Infant Swimming Resource’s Self-Rescue® swimming program is scheduled 5 days per week, Monday through Friday, for 10 minutes each day for an average of 6 weeks.
Infant Swimming Resource’s Self-Rescue® program is nationally recognized as the safest provider of survival swimming lessons for infants and young children. The program includes a specialized approach that focuses on teaching babies to roll onto their back to float, rest, and breathe, and teaches the swim-float-swim survival sequence for children 1–6 years old. Once children are fully skilled, they also practice ISR skills while fully clothed, and refresher lessons are available to maintain ISR Self-Rescue® skill development.
My Baby Swims currently has two certified ISR providers in San Diego, including Brad, who is a Master Instructor candidate. The leadership team includes Brad Hurvitz, a certified ISR provider and Master Instructor candidate, and Baye Hatcher, who began swimming competitively at an early age, continued through college competing at the NCAA II level for Lindenwood University, and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Therapeutic Recreation with double minors in Adapted Sport & Re. ISR has been taught in San Diego for more than 35 years.
