The Element Dance Center

The Element Dance Center offers ballet, jazz, lyrical, tap, hip hop, and acrobatics. Ballet is described as the technical foundation of all dance styles, jazz combines traditional, Broadway, and commercial styles, lyrical blends ballet, jazz, and contemporary styles, tap focuses on rhythm, timing, and musicality, hip hop is choreography-based, and acrobatics begins with basic skills and progresses to cartwheels, aerials, and somersaults.

• Hip Hop — Hip Hop classes are choreography-based and emphasize foundation grooves, musical connection, and authentic movement.
• Acrobatics — Acrobatics classes begin with basic skills and progress to advanced moves like cartwheels, aerials, and somersaults.

About the provider

The Element Dance Center has been operating for over 20 years. Its leadership team includes Erika Montandon, CEO; Kevin Hermann, Dance Teacher and Choreographer; Sydney Rei Bowers, Dance Teacher and Choreographer; and Carol, Office Manager. Its mission statement says it creates a positive atmosphere full of opportunities for dancers to grow, learn and explore artistically while nurturing self-expression and building confidence, and it describes itself as San Diego’s leading competitive dance studio.
