• Ages: 3–18 years old
• Schedule: Classes meet Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm, with additional Saturday morning training from 8:00 am to 10:30 am.

The training system at United States Tang Soo Do is grounded in Tang Soo Do, a Korean classical martial arts style that emphasizes self-defense through effective hand and foot techniques and traditional forms. Training is conducted in a classical manner and traditional formalities are observed, including showing respect for instructors, fellow students, the American flag, and the training area. Students are expected to know the history and concepts of the system and the martial arts in general as they progress, and instructors teach Tang Soo Do forms and techniques with explanations of the logic, scientific methods, and philosophy behind each movement.

The dojang is equipped with heavy kicking bags, mats for throws and take downs, hand pads, blocking pads, a balance beam, and other training aids. Protective sparring gear is available for those just starting out, and each student is responsible for their own mouthpiece. Sparring is conducted with approved protective gear, and considerable time is spent learning and working drills to enhance students’ timing, speed, and effectiveness in sparring. Programs are offered for all ages and skill levels, from 3 years old to seniors, and families are encouraged to train together.

The Masters at United States Tang Soo Do have been training for almost two decades and continue exploring new techniques and methods to add to the curriculum. Students have the opportunity to participate in periodic inter- and intra-school tournaments.

One parent describes paying for their kids’ martial arts at this program as paying for practice, discipline, teamwork, goal-setting, and long-term effort, and calls it a great investment. Students describe the program as engaging and motivating, and say it delivers on self-defense, fitness, personal growth, and wellbeing.
