Laguna Beach FC is a non-profit youth soccer organization that offers youth soccer, early development programs, and community-based programs for all levels. The program also includes options that provide national exposure for college bound athletes.
• Ages: 5–18 years old
Laguna Beach FC states that its mission is to develop players on and off the field while promoting excellence and positive character values. The leadership team includes Arash Rounaghi (President, Board Member), Chris Boyd (Treasurer, Founder, Board Member), Meagan Hurst (Secretary, Board Member), Max Woodruff (Director of Coaching, Board Advisor), and Lucie Martlin (Director of Operations, Founder, Board Advisor). Arash Rounaghi has been coaching youth sports for over 18 years and served as Director of NJB Laguna Beach from 2017 to 2023. Chris Boyd holds a Bachelor’s degree in History from McDaniel College and has more than 30 years of professional experience in strategic sourcing, tactical purchasing, project management, contract negotiation, and spend analytics. Meagan Hurst has a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology and a master’s degree in Architecture, both from UCLA. Max Woodruff played for the Manchester City Academy team and professionally for Bury FC and has a Master’s Degree in Leadership in Sport. Lucie Martlin has held leadership roles in education and has coached High School Girls Cross-Country and Track & Field.
Laguna Beach FC highlights families, players, and community members through “LBFC in the Community,” a series that focuses on people who are involved with the club. Board and staff members have volunteered in local sports organizations including NJB Laguna Beach, AYSO, Pateadores Soccer Club, Laguna Beach High School, Pacific Soccer Club, and Laguna Beach High School Boys Soccer. Team achievements include LBFC B2010 2023 State Cup Champions, LBFC B2014 SOCAL F3 South Champions, G2007 SOCAL F1 Champions, LBFC G2005 2023 SOCAL State Cup Champions, LBFC B09 SOCAL F2 South Champions, and LBFC B2012 Cardiff Sockers Cup repeat champions.
