V&T Classical Ballet Academy is the official school of Victor and Tatiana Kasatsky, who are described as world-renowned ballet dancers and instructors. Resident teachers include industry-leading choreographers in classical ballet, character, contemporary, and other forms of dance, and special guest instructors have included Tong Wang, Valody Malakhov, Irek Amedov, Ivan Vasiliev, Susan Jaffe, and Natalia Osipova. The academy notes smaller class sizes, classes for all skill and commitment levels, and a warm, family-friendly atmosphere. It is home to winners of numerous awards, including Spotlight Awards, Prix de Lausanne, three Youth American Grand Prix Outstanding School Awards, and four Youth American Grand Prix Outstanding Teacher Awards, and many alumni have gone on to professional companies such as Royal Swedish Ballet, Boston Ballet, Houston Ballet, and National Ballet of Canada. The program reports that 97% of its alumni are awarded scholarships to universities or colleges across the U.S. and in Europe in both the arts and sciences.
V&T Classical Ballet Academy partners with the artists and directors of Ballet Project OC to provide a pathway from academy classes into the professional ballet world and offers world-class performance opportunities through its performing arts branch, Golden State Dance Foundation (GSDF). The program invites families to be part of the Orange County ballet community by taking classes at the academy and notes that donations support the growth of this community and help give the gift of dance to children across Southern California. Community outreach is listed as one of the program’s activities.
Parent testimonials describe students improving thanks to the teaching of Victor, Tatiana, and other instructors, and mention a tight-knit community of young dancers who support one another through classes, intensives, performances, and competitions. Parents also describe the curriculum as well-rounded, note many opportunities to perform, and mention exposure to hip hop, contemporary, character, and stretch in addition to ballet. Several parents report driving long distances for their children’s training and describe the studio as professional, with viewing opportunities for classrooms and performances that include a holiday Nutcracker and a spring show.
