About
The Dragon Institute Wing Chun Kung Fu offers training in Wing Chun, Kung Fu, self-defense, and personal situational awareness. The program includes self-defense training that covers recognition of potential danger, skills against the most common attacks, and developing the mindset essential for survival. Wing Chun in this program is described as direct, efficient, and practical, and is best known for its effectiveness in close-quarters self-defense and for specializing in enabling smaller, weaker people to overcome bigger, stronger attackers.
• Ages: 6–18 years old
The Dragon Institute Wing Chun Kung Fu is led by Founder Sifu Adam Williss. Staff at the program include Mark Allen, who is a 3X Black Belt and Certified Self-Defense Instructor. The program’s mission states that Kung Fu is different than other martial arts because it is not about trophies, competitions, or showing off, but about learning what actually works when things go wrong, focusing on awareness, structure, and the ability to stay calm under pressure, no matter the student’s age. Families can also learn Wing Chun online at home through Sifu Adam Williss’ online Wing Chun school.
Parents and students describe the training at The Dragon Institute as direct, efficient, and practical, and as “efficiency on a whole new level.” One parent reports that a child started at age 6 and “loves it,” and describes Sifu Adam and Sifu Derrick as highly skilled, wonderful with kids, and great mentors. Another parent notes that multiple children and a spouse train there and calls Sifu Adam an inspirational and powerful leader who works well with children of all ages. A Marine sergeant describes this martial arts training as perfect to add to Marine training.
