DM Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy

DM Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy offers the Little Spartans Program, which includes self-defense, verbal confrontation avoidance, warm-up, solo-drills, partner techniques, and games. It also offers the Spartan Kids Program, which includes self-defense, confrontation-avoidance dialogues, sparring, competitions, and eight core skills.

Programs

• Fundamental BJJ Program
• All Levels Brazilian Jiu Jitsu — Dynamic training environment for all skill levels; beginners learn alongside more experienced students through drills, practice, and live sparring.
• Advanced Brazilian Jiu Jitsu — For practitioners who have reached a minimum level of blue belt; focuses on advanced techniques, strategy, precision, conditioning, and live sparring.
• Little Spartans Program — 5-10 years old · Designed for kids ages 5-10; focuses on self-defense, verbal confrontation avoidance, warm-up, solo-drills, partner techniques, and games.
• Spartan Kids Program — 10-16 years old · Designed for kids ages 10-16; emphasizes self-defense, confrontation-avoidance dialogues, sparring, competitions, and eight core skills.
• Women’s Self Defense Program — Women’s only class with 10 core lessons and 5 advanced lessons; teaches how to neutralize 15 common attacks using leverage, technique, and timing.

About the provider

Professor Dimitrios Mavraganis is the lead academy instructor. Professor Mark Frasher is the kids class lead instructor, Professor Nea Vanda Ouk is the adult BJJ class instructor, and Professor Vu Nguyen is the adult and kids class instructor. The academy states that its mission is: "To ensure that you can get home safe!"

The academy offers a safe, clean, and friendly environment. The Women’s Self Defense Program can be started at any time and does not require previous experience. The Spartan Kids Program states that children who commit to a steady training schedule are encouraged to participate in competitions.
