Christian Church of Lemon Grove Preschool and School Age Child Care Program includes a daily Morning Assembly where students gather with the Director and staff to sing a song, say the Pledge of Allegiance, and share prayer requests. Children take part in activities such as art and crafts, language and pre-reading activities, cooking and nutrition, math and numbers, literature, science and nature, block building, and both small and large group activities. The program also includes Bible stories, memorizing the books of the Bible and a monthly Bible verse, learning about the Ten Commandments, and a daily Bible Circle with a theme-related Bible lesson, memory verse, singing, and a time of prayer, along with both structured and non-structured play.

Christian Church of Lemon Grove Preschool and School Age Child Care Program has been operating since 1975 and is sponsored as a community service by the Christian Church of Lemon Grove. The mission of the Christian Church Preschool and School Age Child Care Program is to provide a quality learning and childcare experience in a Christian environment. It is a licensed preschool in the state of California, with Christian Church of Lemon Grove Preschool (Lic.#370800119), School Age Child Care Center (Lic.#370806115), and an Infant License (376700721). The program is described as a small, messy, play-based school that serves a culturally diverse community, including children from Lemon Grove and many surrounding areas, with nursery, toddler, and before and after school programs available and enrollment currently open.
The curriculum is created by the school and uses hands-on experiences, exploration, and lots of play, with teachers planning engaging thematic units that change weekly. A curriculum team plans monthly themes, letters, numbers, and Bible stories, and each class follows the same monthly schedule at age-appropriate levels. Activities include large and small motor skills, perceptual motor skills, social studies, health and safety, listening to and following directions, and creativity in art, music, and dramatic play. Morning Assembly is used for the whole school to gather and connect, and children pause to give thanks to God before snack and lunch, with science or nature activities including praising God for the things He created. Christmas and Easter are presented from a Biblical point of view, and godly standards for behavior are developed using Jesus as an example, with staff stating that they strive to make God the center of all learning experiences throughout the day.
The Preschool staff has been employed based on their education, experience, enthusiasm, personality, Christian values, and their ability to provide loving and understanding care for each child according to his or her needs. Staff members are certified in CPR and First Aid, and the Director earned a California State Preschool Teacher Credential at Southwestern College. The leadership team includes Preschool Director Lynn Leavitt (Ms. Lynn – Director and School Age Child Care Teacher), Ms. Christina (Pre-K), Ms. Angela (Nursery), Ms. Kailee (Nursery), and Ms. Lyz (3-year-olds Teacher).
