About
Lemon Grove Day Camp offers a wide variety of indoor and outdoor activities, including sports, arts and crafts, games, STEM projects, clubs, themed events, courtyard games, and board games. Campers can take part in activities such as four square, tether ball, pool, ping pong, air hockey, movies, reading, dodge ball, indoor soccer, basketball, volleyball, flag football, kickball, capture the flag, blue mat wars, Kings and Queens, and wiffle ball. A sample day includes time for check-in and games, two snack breaks, lunch, and blocks of time for sports, games, and arts and crafts.
• Ages: Kindergarten–8th grade
• Schedule: Open 6:30 a.m.–6:00 p.m.; seasonal sessions during school breaks (Spring Break, Summer, Fall, Turkey, and Winter) that align with the Lemon Grove School District calendar
• Price: Full Week: $95; 3-Day: $80; Sibling Discount: $85; additional payment methods include YMCA and CDA
Families are asked to send at least two nutritional snacks, a lunch, and plenty of water each day, with snack and lunch times at 9:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m., and 3:00 p.m. The program asks campers to wear sneakers or tennis shoes and not to wear open-toe shoes, sandals, or crocs, and recommends labeling jackets, water bottles, and lunch pails while leaving valuables at home. Seasonal Day Camps have limited space, and all payments must be submitted no later than the Thursday before the week of attendance and are required before drop-off, with Recreation staff checking the ID of every adult at the gate for pick up. Each camp is led by a team of trained Community Services staff, and the City of Lemon Grove Community Services Division states that it provides exciting and enriching opportunities for children to stay active, make new friends, and explore their creativity in a safe and welcoming environment. The City notes that its youngest residents are served through this popular Day Camp program, which offers several sessions for youth throughout the year.
