Civil Air Patrol Cadet Program

The Civil Air Patrol Cadet Program is for ages 12 through age 21. It includes teamwork, moral leadership, aerospace education, technical skills to support emergency services, and military history and customs. Cadets progress at their own pace through a multi-step program.

Programs

• Cadet Program — 12 through age 21
• Aerospace Education — Internal and external aerospace education programs.
• Emergency Services — Search and rescue, disaster relief, homeland security operations and exercises, counterdrug reconnaissance, radiological monitoring, and damage assessment.
• Officer Program — Senior members participate in CAP adult membership and support a variety of missions.

About the provider

Civil Air Patrol cadet programs have shaped the lives of more than 1 million youth over the past 85 years. Each year, cadets can take part in special activities at the local, state, regional, and national levels. Some cadets solo fly an airplane for the first time through a flight encampment or academy, others travel abroad through the International Air Cadet Exchange Program, and others assist at major air shows throughout the nation.
