Future Scholars: Youth Courses

Future Scholars: Youth Courses offers a wide range of classes and camps, including technology options such as Python for Kids: Beginner, Website Development with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, Web and Game Makers: Roblox Game Development for Kids, Java Programming: Basics, 3D Modeling Camp, and Digital Art Camp: Learn Procreate from Scratch. The program also includes creative and performing arts options like Creative Studio Art Camp: Draw, Paint, Sculpt!, Creative Minds: Introduction to Voice-Over (VO) and Podcasting for Teens, Jazz Camp, Interior Design Camp, and Character Design Camp: Middle School. Students can also join sports and fitness activities such as Youth Pickleball Camp: Spring Break Edition, Pickleball Camp for Youth Players, Basketball Camp, Kickstart Your Fitness 13+, Introduction to Kickboxing / Muay Thai Fundamentals 13+, Self Defense Plus! 13+, and several fencing options including Beginning Fencing Camp for Kids (ages 9-14), Continuing Fencing--Foil, Continuing Fencing--Epee, and Getting Ready for Summer Nationals. Additional offerings include Fitness, Mindfullness, and Safety Skills, Somatic Tools for Stress and Anxiety for Teens, Babysitter CPR / First Aid / Safety, Basic Car Inspection/Maintenance for Teen Drivers, Empowering Your Teen to Explore Their Best-Fit Future, and Public Safety Camp.

Future Scholars: Youth Courses is part of Las Positas College Community Education and is coordinated by Megan Garcia, Community Education Coordinator. Las Positas College is ranked the #2 Community College in California and the #4 Community College in America. The program is self-sustaining and relies on course registrations, and registration fees go back into the program.
