Martial Arts for Kids at Aikido of Livermore - Shinrei Dojo offers a Martial Arts for Kids program that includes instruction in the Japanese art of Aikido. The program includes martial arts training with a focus on practical defense.

Aikido of Livermore - Shinrei Dojo was established in 1989 and is the oldest Aikido dojo in the Tri-Valley area. The dojo offers experienced, safe, and serious instruction for all ages and levels. The chief instructor is Jim Alvarez Shihan, supported by assistant instructors who provide personal attention to each student. Training is focused on cultivating mindfulness, composure, and calmness through martial arts training and using those lessons to create positive outcomes for everyday conflicts at home, at work, and in society. The dojo states that no matter a person’s race, color, gender, identity, religion, nationality, experience level, or age, they can find a new family there, and that each member is recognized based on personal growth, effort, and contribution in a community that is inclusive and reflective of a diverse society. The dojo states that students will be safe, will be offered respect, and will be promoted fairly and impartially, and that they will be given the opportunity to learn and grow. The dojo offers a free class for prospective students to participate in after arranging a time to visit. Aikido of Livermore - Shinrei Dojo is a 501c(3) non-profit organization and requests tax-deductible donations to help it continue to provide martial arts instruction to the community.
