USSD Livermore offers Karate classes that include self defense instruction, bully-prevention, and weapons training. Classes take place in a dojo community setting and include options such as the Tiny Tigers class.

• Schedule: Class options Monday–Saturday during daytime and evening hours
USSD Livermore has been serving the Livermore area since 1994 and has been described as proudly serving the community for over 30 years. The mission statement for the program is “Karate Rooted in the Livermore Community, Focused on Growth; Real progress isn’t easy—our training challenges students to dig deep, stay focused, and rise stronger together.” The leadership team includes Chief Instructor Michael Delfino and Senior Instructors Hannah Peacock and Roger Hileman, along with Junior Instructors Moss Ballin, Leo Helling, Levi Stephens, Maggie Pino, and Jackson Moreno. Master Michael Delfino began his martial arts journey in 1993 and has led USSD Livermore since 2004. Sensei Hannah has been training at the Livermore dojo since 2007 and has been teaching for more than a decade, while Sensei Roger began his martial arts journey in 2007. Sensei Moss is a black belt instructor, and Sensei Leo and Sensei Levi are 1st degree black belts, with Sensei Levi also a member of the Boy Scouts of America. Sensei Jackson has 8 years of training. The dojo community is described as incredibly welcoming to both beginners and experienced practitioners, with age-specific classes and real-world skill building for Livermore students. USSD Livermore offers a first lesson free for new students and a complimentary personal lesson to start a Karate journey, along with fun and engaging kids classes focused on self esteem and character building, classes for adolescents and young adults, and adults classes where adults of all abilities train through Karate and community. From bully-prevention to weapons training, USSD Livermore provides well-rounded self defense training. The program notes that it has served generations of families and that Roger brings the same commitment to the dojo that he brings to his faith as an active member of his church, and that outside the dojo he is a passionate bodybuilder and animal rescue advocate alongside his wife.
