Long Beach Ballet Summer Programs include daily training in ballet technique, pointe, variations, Russian Character, Pilates, Modern, and Contemporary during intensive sessions. Additional classes and activities include ballet, jazz, musical theater, hip hop, craft time, and lunch time at a local park. The programs are taught by world-renowned teachers and are part of an internationally recognized Summer Program.
• Ages: 5–18 years old
• Schedule: 5-week Intensive, 3-week Intensive with daily classes Monday through Saturday, 2-week Junior Intensive, 1 or 2-week Children’s Dance Camp, and a 5-week Ballet Ambassadors to China program
Long Beach Ballet Summer Programs include a 5-Week Ballet Ambassadors to China program in which students travel to Guangzhou, Anshan, and Beijing to rehearse and perform alongside local ballet schools. During the 3-Week Intensive, each student receives individual attention and has the chance to perform in two or three dances during the final studio performance. Performance opportunities are available to all students aged four and up, including an Annual School Performance each June, which is a two-hour production featuring a full-scale story ballet at the Carpenter Performing Arts Center, and The Nutcracker each December at the Terrace Theater. The program’s mission is to enhance the lives of children and the community through the beauty and discipline of classical ballet.
