About

The Long Beach Scottish Rite Childhood Language Program offers speech therapy, language therapy, and literacy treatment through individualized programs. Children attend one-on-one intensive therapy sessions and small group therapy sessions led by licensed and certified Speech-Language Pathologists.

• Ages: 18 months–18 years old
• Schedule: Therapy sessions are 45 minutes, scheduled 1–2 times per week
• Price: Services are provided free of charge and at no cost to families.

The program is a part of the California Scottish Rite Foundation, which is dedicated to support and assist children in California by providing childhood speech-language, literacy and education programs for a lifetime of improved communication and confidence. It was established in 1978 and is totally reliant on philanthropy from individuals, foundations and corporate partners, and does not receive any state or federal funding. The program is one of 19 RiteCare Childhood Language Centers in communities across California that provide services free of charge. A letter from a grateful parent states, “It is difficult to find words to express thanking you for saving our child’s life. This is what you have done. You took our beloved child, destined for failure and heartache, and pointed him in the direction of happiness and success.”
