About
Young Scientists Camp brings students, experienced teachers, future teachers, and science specialists together for two weeks of hands-on exploration, discovery, and fun. Camp days include hands-on investigations in the classroom and visits to campus resources such as the Marine Lab, Shark Lab, Vertebrate Lab, Bug Lab, Science Learning Center, and Japanese Gardens.
• Ages: 7–14 years old
• Schedule: Two-week session, Monday–Friday, 8:30am–12:00pm, July 13–25, 2026.
Young Scientists Camp is a summer science camp for students in grades 2–9. The program is academically focused and uses hands-on science activities. All students, regardless of race, sex, color, ethnicity, or national origin, who are interested in Young Scientists Camp, are welcome. The program also hosts SEE US Succeed!, a two-week summer science camp for Long Beach Unified students experiencing homelessness. Current supporters for the 2026 summer camp include Alpha Delta Kappa - Zeta Chapter, members of the Los Altos United Methodist Church, and individual donors. Support for the 2025 summer camp was provided by the Long Beach Community Impact Fund, Fluor Foundation, Alpha Delta Kappa - Zeta Chapter, members of the Los Altos United Methodist Church, and many individual donors.
