Art & Fun Studio

Art & Fun Studio offers individual and group art classes that focus on traditional techniques and the tools needed for students to express themselves. Classes are available in English, French, and Russian, and are offered as private lessons or in small groups of 3–4 students. The program includes options for different levels and ages, and the instructor notes that students have very fast progress and have fun while doing serious art.

Art & Fun Studio is led by Lena Meltsina, who has a degree from the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. She has taught art at the Silicon Valley International School and currently teaches at the French American School of Silicon Valley. Her stated methodology is based on traditional techniques, clear explanation of every technique, and practice, with a focus on individual work through private classes or very small groups. She describes her philosophy as putting no limits on creation and trying everything in art, and she states that she adapts her approach for each student.

One parent from Redwood City reports that both of her daughters, ages 10 and 14, took art classes taught in French by Lena (referred to as Yelena), and that the family drove from Redwood City to attend classes twice a week one summer.
