Safari Run

Safari Run features a family-friendly play space with games and obstacle courses centered on a track and a giant animal-themed jungle gym. Children can explore big mazes, climbing tunnels, giant slides, a running track, and a separate toddler area. Parents have access to a parent lounge with a plasma TV in every room and free Wi-Fi, and the facility emphasizes being “Always Clean!” with every pad in and around the play structure and the floor cleaned with a disinfectant at least four times per week and children washing their hands before and after play.

Safari Run describes its atmosphere as warm, fun, inviting, and safe, where kids and parents can play like animals. The play structure combines slides, ladders, bridges, and tunnels, and is described as building motor skills, balance, cardio, strength, and confidence. The program states that it strives to provide a safe environment for everyone, including children who may have various allergies. Safari Run was founded by Jodi and Rob Eichensehr, and Jodi has been a Certified Personal Fitness Trainer since 1990. Safari Run opened in San Mateo in 2006. The stated mission is to improve the quality of children’s lives by nurturing their minds, bodies, and spirits through programs that reinforce fitness, nutrition, independent learning, and fun activities.
