Pre-School Dance is described as a unique program for children aged 5 years old and under and is structured to let them experience music and dance while learning proper dance technique. Mommy & Me is offered for 2-year-olds and is presented as an introduction to dance for 2-year-old boys and girls, with parents asked to dress comfortably and bring dance shoes or socks while children wear dance attire. Boys Only Classes are specifically designed for young male dancers.

In youth program classes, students are guided through all areas of dance instruction, and classes are available for all ages and levels, from beginner to advanced, including ballet, jazz, contemporary, hip hop, and acro-dance. From tap to acrobatics, pre-ballet to pointe, Bay Area Dance School offers classes for dancers ages two through adult. All jazz students are highly encouraged to enroll in at least one ballet class, all lyrical students should be enrolled in at least one ballet class, and all students must have tap shoes for tap.

All students must be registered before taking a class, studio policy forms must be signed, and registration can be completed online. Classes are only pro-rated for injuries, not for absences, holidays, or cancellations, and a student can make up a missed class within four weeks with the director’s permission. If a student misses four consecutive classes, the student may be dropped from the class for poor attendance.

Acuity Dancers is a studio company for serious young dancers committed to exploration and excellence within the art of dance, and participation is by invitation and audition only. Members of Acuity Dancers take daily technique classes, attend competitions and conventions, participate in workshops, engage in community work, and receive personalized mentorship. Bay Area Dance School states that choosing the school means choosing more than dance lessons and describes its mission as giving children creativity, confidence, and joy that will last a lifetime, and notes “Award Winning Excellence In Dance Education.”

Dress and shoe guidelines are specific: girls wear a pink, black, white, or pastel-colored leotard with pink, black, or tan tights or white ankle socks, and no tutus or skirts below knee length; boys wear a black or white fitted shirt with black basketball or bike shorts and white socks.
