About

Children’s Ministry offers storytelling, games, art, fellowship, and service as part of its regular activities for children. The program connects children with God and each other and includes learning about compassionate people, especially Jesus. Children’s Ministry also offers a variety of events throughout the year for children and families to grow in faith, and it is part of a church that offers vibrant ministries for children, youth, and adults of all ages.

• Ages: 0–12 years old
• Schedule: Worship on Sundays at 8:30 am and 10:00 am.

In 1950, the United Methodist Conference appointed Charles W. Cox to begin a church in the city of Los Altos. The Children’s Ministry is part of The United Methodist Church, whose mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world by proclaiming the good news of God’s grace and by exemplifying Jesus’ command to love God and neighbor. The broader church identifies as a Changemaker church committed to following Jesus’ example of having compassion for all people and celebrating God’s gift of diversity. Leadership connected to children’s programs includes Heidi Bliss and Dee Gray, who serve as Codirectors of the Children’s Center Preschool. The church states that it believes all persons are children of God and that it welcomes all, regardless of age, cultural background, disabilities, ethnicity, financial circumstances, gender identity, marital status, religious tradition, or sexual orientation.
