Master Seth Weiler is the Owner and Head Instructor and has over 30 years of martial combat experience, including training, instruction, and management at various academies, and he has competed and placed in various tournaments for sparring and forms. He and his wife, Jennifer Lowe-Weiler, own and operate ‘Ohana Martial Arts Center, and she has a Master’s in educational leadership and office management experience. Each instructor has a rich background in the Taekwondo industry, is highly experienced and dedicated, and is described as experienced and passionate about teaching martial arts. Instructors prioritize safety and ensure that all students learn and practice techniques in a safe and controlled manner, use age-appropriate techniques and exercises in Taekwondo classes for young children, tailor their approach to meet the needs of each individual, and are always available to answer questions and provide feedback.
The Juniors Martial Arts program offers Taekwondo classes specially designed for children between the ages of 6 and 12, and the Lil’ Foot Martial Arts program introduces young children age 6 to the fundamentals of Taekwondo. Taekwondo classes are tailored for teens and adults alike, and are carefully crafted to empower and transform students both physically and mentally. The focus in these classes lies in developing strong discipline, respect, and self-control while fostering a sense of confidence through fun and engaging activities, and as students progress, they carry forward this martial arts foundation into higher-level training.
‘Ohana Martial Arts Center states that Taekwondo was created in the 1940s, has a global reach across 206 countries, and ignites the body, mind, and spirit. The school is committed to providing a safe, supportive, and empowering environment for all students, and describes ‘Ohana as a safe place to release energy and become stronger. Training as a child gave Master Seth an everyday outlet for stress and was a safe space where he found a family, and after helping hundreds of students reach their goal of black belt, he decided to fulfill his dream and open ‘Ohana Martial Arts Center. The center invites people of all ages to join its classes and experience an improved lifestyle, with training individualized toward students to build confident leaders and well-rounded martial artists, and it states that Taekwondo classes there will help develop traits born out of traditional martial arts training, including discipline, honor, and respect.
‘Ohana Martial Arts Center values individualized Taekwondo training with each student’s age and experience in mind and takes pride in applying proven educational theory to its instruction. The center states that this approach helps students meet their goals efficiently while reaching their full potential, and that these variables and clear expectations come together to develop strong martial artists and future leaders. It also states that training there will improve not only strength but also discipline, respect, and integrity, and that the program creates courageous leaders for generations to come with a teamwork approach to training described as “one for all and all for one.” While living out Seth’s dream of changing the martial arts industry, Seth and Jennifer state that they strive to build strong leaders and martial artists in Los Altos, and that Jennifer is well-equipped to make a positive mark on the community.
