Payam Music Los Altos offers private 1:1 piano lessons. The program provides private piano lessons that are customized during a 50-minute first lesson based on what is learned about the student in the orientation. Every student’s first lesson is free.
• Ages: 4–18 years old
• Schedule: Lesson options Monday–Friday afternoons and evenings, and Saturday daytime; first lesson is 50 minutes
The program operates as an award-winning piano school with multiple sound-proof rooms and private lessons with one teacher and one student at a time. Students can learn from different instructors as they progress, and top students can receive mentorship from composer Hans Zimmer’s studio, Bleeding Fingers. Payam Music Los Altos uses a patented alphanumeric notation for beginners and an innovative method using easy-to-understand alphanumeric notation, and students learn techniques through songs they love. The program offers a free orientation and private 1:1 lesson, and includes a 30-day cancellation option if a family is not happy with the experience. Students need a piano or keyboard to practice at home.
The piano school is led by Piano School Director Lindsey Pino. Its mission statement is, “We’re on a mission to change that.” The school is nationally ranked in the US based on PTA Reflections winners and speed to diploma, is described as an award-winning piano school, and has been featured on NBC Bay Area. 60 Minutes featured the piano school and its partnership with Hans Zimmer’s composer collective, Bleeding Fingers. Payam Music students excelled in the PTA Reflections national competition of 300,000 students.
