Kate's Tutoring

Kate's Tutoring offers one-on-one academic tutoring in reading, writing, STEM, history, and executive functioning skills. It also offers executive function coaching focused on task initiation, cognitive flexibility, and time management, plus test prep for the ISEE, SSAT, SAT, ACT, APs, and GRE. Small-group semi-private tutoring is also available, along with admissions counseling and college and adult advanced support.

About the provider

Kate's Tutoring was founded by Kate Hackett. Kate personally vets and matches every student on the roster. She is a California-certified teacher and mandated reporter with 15+ years of tutoring experience. The program says its tutors are background-checked, have advanced degrees and subject-matter mastery, and that less than 5% of applicants make the team. Kate Hackett studied at Boston University and is listed with CA Teaching Commission #120563373.

Online-only sessions are available for grades 4+. Families are encouraged to consider virtual sessions. There is a $35 application/registration fee. Kate's Tutoring has a no-cancellation policy and a 48-hour rescheduling policy. Lessons canceled without 48 hours' notice are charged at the full rate. Makeup sessions must be scheduled within 7 days. No service guarantees or refunds are offered; tutor re-match may be offered. Direct bookings are ad-hoc and cannot be rescheduled or refunded.
