Margie Haber Acting Studio – Kids & Teens Acting Classes offers on-camera acting classes, acting workshops, and audition coaching for young performers. The program also includes coaching in the self-taping process, a Two-Week Intensive, Self-Tape Sessions, Private Coaching Sessions, online group classes, and self-guided video courses.
• Ages: 7–18 years old
Acting classes for kids ages 7–13 are taught by highly trained, professional actors who coach and mentor students to audition for film, TV, and commercials. Acting classes for teens and young adults ages 14–21 are also taught by highly trained, professional actors who coach and mentor students to audition for film, TV, and commercials. Classes and workshops are offered for all levels from beginner to master, and include on-camera acting classes in Los Angeles and online, as well as world-class online group classes and self-guided video courses. The studio uses Margie’s 10-step approach to creating a character’s life and Haber Phrasing™, an alternative to memorization, with a focus on removing anxiety from auditioning and self-taping. In-person and online classes are described as safe, fun, intimate, and nurturing, and the philosophy includes personal transformation and self-reflection, summed up in the goal to “be a complicated human being” to support organic rather than technical acting.
Margie Haber is the Studio Founder and a Master-Level Instructor, and the leadership and teaching team includes Creative Director and Master-Level Instructor Hamish Sturgeon, along with instructors Diane Charles (Advanced), Jim Nieb (Advanced / Improvisation), Iman Nazemzadeh (Intermediate), William Gressman (Intermediate), Jack Perry (Beginners), Gabriella Gonzalez Biziou (Beginners), Chris Schellenger (Kids & Teens), Saydee Dickinson (Teens), Drew Horton (Improvisation), and Melanie Nicholls-King (Virtual Classes). Margie transferred to Hollywood from New York in the 1980s and opened her Los Angeles acting studio in 1986, and for more than 40 years she has been known as Hollywood’s top audition coach.
