PLAYGROUND LA offers master classes, daily dance, dance fitness sessions, online tutorials, and LIVE classes. The program also provides access to PGTV, which includes over 100 online tutorials and exclusive content, along with memberships, special offers, brand promotions, and a members-only PGTV community. PLAYGROUND LA is the signature and original location of the Playground brand and includes the NEXT DOOR studio, which features THE PINK ROOM inspired by The Pussycat Dolls.
Founded by Pussycat Doll creator Robin Antin and actor and world-renowned choreographer Kenny Wormald, PLAYGROUND LA has been part of the Los Angeles dance community since February 2017. The leadership team includes Robin Antin and Kenny Wormald as founders and owners, and the reality show “PLAYGROUND” follows dancers who teach and train at the Melrose Avenue studio, including these owners. In 2021, the program introduced PGTV, and in 2023 the brand expanded with PLAYGROUND LONDON in London, UK. In 2024, the NEXT DOOR studio opened next to the original LA location, adding THE PINK ROOM inspired by The Pussycat Dolls. The mission of PLAYGROUND LA is to continue the legacy of the Playground brand by inspiring, nurturing, and celebrating the art of dance in Los Angeles and beyond.
PLAYGROUND LA’s community involvement has included auditions with industry figures such as Mandy Moore, Jamal Sims, Tyce Diorio, and Fatima, as well as special class events with Val and Jenna from Dancing With the Stars, Marty Kudelka, and Brian Friedman. The brand has hosted events and classes for companies including Nike, Adidas, PUMA, Red Bull, and Kappa, and has been used for music video shoots, movies, TV shows, dance reality TV shows, concept video shoots, auditions, and commercials. PLAYGROUND LA has appeared on EXTRA TV, Entertainment Tonight, and KTLA, and celebrity visitors and participants have included Drew Barrymore, Jennifer Lopez, Tracee Ellis Ross, Cameron Diaz, Justin Bieber, Nicole Scherzinger, Renee Bargh, Maddie Ziegler, Gabby Douglas, and Claire Holt. The reality show “PLAYGROUND,” executive produced by Megan Thee Stallion, premiered on Hulu in July 2024 and features the dancers and owners at the Melrose Avenue studio.
