Since its inception in February 2017, PLAYGROUND LA has been described as a cornerstone of the Los Angeles dance community. In 2021, the program introduced PGTV, and in 2023 the brand expanded with the opening of PLAYGROUND LONDON in the United Kingdom. In 2024, a new LA studio called NEXT DOOR was unveiled, featuring THE PINK ROOM inspired by The Pussycat Dolls.
The Hulu reality show “PLAYGROUND,” executive produced by Megan Thee Stallion, follows a group of dancers who teach and train at the Melrose Avenue studio, including owners Kenny Wormald and Robin Antin. PLAYGROUND LA has hosted auditions from industry figures such as Mandy Moore, Jamal Sims, Tyce Diorio, and Fatima, and special class events featuring Dancing With the Stars’ Val and Jenna, Marty Kudelka, and Brian Friedman. The Playground brand has hosted events and classes for brands including Nike, Adidas, PUMA, Red Bull, and Kappa.
