The Sepulveda Basin Environmental Education Program offers a two-hour hands-on environmental education session. The program serves grades 4-12, and elementary teachers must apply with two classes to meet the 45-student minimum; the total group size cannot exceed 70 students. Schools must arrange and fund their own bus transportation, arrive by 9:45 AM, and provide at least 4 adult chaperones.

About the provider
The program is scheduled each school year and includes teacher training and field trips for sixty classes. Its mission is to help LAUSD children become more knowledgeable about the natural world, more comfortable in it, more aware of their relationship to it, and more apt to care for it responsibly. Grant subsidies for 2026-2027 can cover the full education fee for 25 selected field trips, up to a $955 value.

Target audience is teachers of grades 4-12. Elementary teachers must apply with two classes to meet the 45-student minimum; total group size cannot exceed 70 students. Program is free to schools except for transportation. To participate, submit the completed Application Form.
