Sophie Dance

Sophie Dance offers Ballet & Tap for ages 2-3, 3-4, and 4-6 and under, Ballet & Pop for the same age groups, Ballet & Jazz for age 4-6, Tumble & Hip Hop for age 4-6, and Beginning Levels for ages 5-7. Ballet & Tap is a combo class introducing ballet and tap, Ballet & Pop introduces ballet and pop, Ballet & Jazz includes jazz, transition steps, across-the-floor work, creative movement, and routine choreography, and Tumble & Hip Hop introduces hip hop foundations and age-appropriate tumbling skills.

Programs

• Ballet & Tap — AGE 2-3; AGE 3-4; AGE 4-6 AND UNDER · Combo class introducing ballet and tap; parents or caregivers accompany child in some younger-age classes.
• Ballet & Pop — AGE 2-3; AGE 3-4; AGE 4-6 AND UNDER · Combo class introducing ballet and pop; recommended for children with sound sensitivities.
• Ballet & Jazz — AGE 4-6 · Builds on ballet training and incorporates jazz, transition steps, across-the-floor work, creative movement, and routine choreography.
• Tumble & Hip Hop — AGE 4-6 · Introduces hip hop foundations and age-appropriate tumbling skills.
• Beginning Levels — AGE 5-7 · Beginning levels offered in a variety of styles listed below.

About the provider

Sophie Dance was established in 2007, and Sophie Dance 3rd Street opened in 2007. Miss Sophie is the owner of Sophie Dance 3rd Street, Sophie Dance West, Sophie Dancewear, and Level Up Dance Academy. Sophie Dance and Level Up Dance Academy provide recreational and competitive dance education in Los Angeles to children ages 2-18 and state that their studios offer dance instruction in supportive environments for children and caregivers. The program also states that Sophie is a Breast Cancer Survivor, sits on the board of The Fondle Project, and that Sophie and Level Up Dance Academy support GLSEN and are allies to LGBTQ families and children.

No refunds or credits are issued once registered. There are three billing periods: Fall, Winter, and Spring. Families receive 10% off tuition for a sibling or additional classes. Three makeup classes are offered per billing cycle. A military discount of 10% applies on all tuition and boutique items to any dancer with a parent who is active duty or retired. Sophie Dance has a zero-tolerance policy for bullying and racism.
