About
K-12 Arts Education Programs includes visual arts, performing arts, and instruction in art, dance, theater, music, and media arts. Students may take part in the Create With the Greats Program, the MAC Music Program, and the Nümü Social Dance & Cultural Arts Program - Indigenous Arts. The organization also runs Art & Wine events and the MAC Community Arts Center & Gallery as part of its arts programming.

Mono Arts Council provides visual and performing arts education for K–12 students in school, after school, and during the summer, and provides highly skilled teaching artists and art supplies for a variety of programs from kindergarten through 8th grade. The goal is for every student in Mono County to have access to art, dance, theater, music, and media arts. Mono Arts Council partners with the Mono County Office of Education, the Mammoth Unified School District, and the Eastern Sierra Unified School District to fill gaps in arts education. The Mono Arts Council mission is to foster a lasting culture of creativity by collaborating with artists through education, advocacy, and programs. Adult programs, including Art & Wine and the MAC Community Arts Center & Gallery, raise awareness for arts education and give local artists a place to showcase their talents. The leadership team includes Kristin Reese (Executive Director), Brooke Rogers (Education Director, Teaching Artist), Alonso Escobar (Arts Advocacy and Policy Director, Teaching Artist), M Little Bear Bateman (Gallery Manager), Yuriko Oto (Program Coordinator/Teaching Artist), and Susi Bains (Board Chair). Kristin Reese obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from Sonoma State University, and Alonso Escobar obtained a degree in International and Regional Studies (European Studies) from UCLA and a master’s degree in International Relations from American University.
