About
The Outdoor Science Education Program offers nature-based outdoor education where children spend all learning time outside. Activities include learning about nature, art, Indigenous culture, how to responsibly recreate, and how to become stewards of the land and waters, with age-appropriate, field-based learning opportunities. The program also includes place-based learning at SNARL and Valentine Camp, as well as public tours on wildlife, history, geology, wildflowers, birds, and bears.
• Ages: 5–18 years old
• Schedule: 6-week afterschool program in spring that runs once each week from March to April; summer programs are divided into weeklong summer camps
The Outdoor Science Education Program offers school year field trips for elementary school children from Mono and Inyo Counties and virtual programs that can be accessed from anywhere.
