About

Future Five Stars Football is a 5-day summer camp that includes competitions, games, football chalk talks, teaching technique-based skills, and one-on-one coaching. Campers take part in speed and agility training, individual position drills, and combine drills that focus on technique and football-specific skills.

• Ages: 6–13 years old
• Schedule: 5-day summer camps with multiple co-ed and all-girls flag football weeks each summer

Future Five Stars Football was founded in 2019 by Mira Costa High School football players, starting with 35 campers in its first year. The camp returned in 2021 with 70 campers, added a second week and 150 total campers in 2022, and grew to over 300 campers across two weeks in 2023. In 2024, the camp expanded to four weeks and introduced its first girls’ flag football camp, with a stated vision for the girls’ camp to double in size in 2025.

The leadership team includes Koda Thormodsgaard (President & Founder), Brian Kaiserman (VP of Growth and Strategy), David Bugdanowitz (COO & Lead Counselor), Nick Carpino (Co-Founder & VP of Marketing and Sales), Nick Darrow (Operations and Finance Director), Cole Crotty (Lead Counselor), Zane Thormodsgaard (Assistant Finance Director), and Riley Bloomstrand (Football Operations Intern). Staff experience includes youth and high school coaching, former high school team captains and all-league or all-area players, and college degrees in areas such as Psychology, Sports Communication, Finance, Business Economics, Statistics, and Real Estate and Marketing. One coach, Cole Crotty, plays at Johns Hopkins University and has been named D3 Rookie of the Year and a first team All-Centennial selection.

Future Five Stars Football has partnered with the Los Angeles Chargers Community Team and BCS Flag Football. The program has also partnered with USC wide receiver Brenden Rice, who signed an NIL deal with Future Five Stars, and with NFL linebacker Omar Speights of the Los Angeles Rams.

The stated mission of Future Five Stars is to focus on the development of kids on and off the field beyond a 5-day summer camp, aiming to equip youth athletes to excel in teamwork skills, competitive sports, and enthusiasm for life by developing meaningful friendships and creating lifelong memories. Camper and parent feedback includes comments such as “extremely fun,” “super FUN and I learned a lot,” and “Best summer camp in the South Bay. I mark my calendar to show up every year the moment registration opens!” Campers are asked to bring cleats, a mouthguard, a packed lunch, and a water bottle.
