Future Five Stars Football Camp includes competitions, games, football chalk talks, and individual position drills. Campers take part in teaching technique based skills, one on one coaching, speed and agility training, and combine drills and technique during 5-day summer camp sessions.

• Schedule: 5-day summer camp sessions, with 2026 camps offered in June and July from 9am–2pm

Future Five Stars Football Camp was founded in 2019 by Mira Costa High School football players, starting with 35 campers. In 2021, the camp returned after COVID-19 with 70 campers, added more Mira Costa High School players and college athletes as coaches, established a board of directors, and created Five Talents Training LLC. In 2022, the camp doubled in size to 150 campers across two weeks, and Brenden Rice, USC wide receiver and son of NFL Hall of Famer Jerry Rice, signed an NIL deal with Future Five Stars. In 2023, the camp partnered with the Los Angeles Chargers Community Team and BCS Flag Football and welcomed over 300 campers across two weeks. In 2024, the camp expanded to four weeks, introduced its first girls’ flag football camp, announced a new location in Palos Verdes, CA, and partnered with NFL linebacker Omar Speights of the Los Angeles Rams. In 2025, the camp’s vision includes expanding and doubling the size of the girls camp.

The leadership team includes Koda Thormodsgaard (President & Founder), Brian Kaiserman (VP of Growth and Strategy), David Bugdanowitz (COO & Lead Counselor), Nick Carpino (Co-Founder & VP of Marketing and Sales), Nick Darrow (Operations and Finance Director), Cole Crotty (Lead Counselor), Zane Thormodsgaard (Assistant Finance Director), and Riley Bloomstrand (Football Operations Intern). Coach Koda Thor has been coaching and training youth and high school athletes since 2018, is a former Mira Costa football captain and all-league running back and linebacker, graduated from Auburn University with a Psychology and Sports Communication degree, and is graduating from seminary school with a Master of Arts in Christian Leadership while pursuing a career in coaching and ministry. Coach Brian Kaiserman graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a degree in Real Estate and Marketing and is the top ranked salesman in Austin, Texas. Coach David Bugdanowitz is a longtime coach and Mira Costa High School graduate who played linebacker and was a team captain, coaches on the Varsity and JV teams at Mira Costa High School, previously served as head coach at VistaMar High School for four seasons, and is pursuing a career in coaching. Coach Nick Carpino is a former all-area quarterback and captain at Mira Costa, and he graduated from Auburn University in 2023 with a degree in Finance. Coach Nick Darrow has been involved with sports business for the past five years, is a recent UCLA graduate with a degree in Business Economics and Statistics, and has coached youth football for six or seven years. Coach Cole Crotty is a recent Mira Costa High School graduate, was the Varsity Football Team Captain, was all CIF as a wide receiver his senior season, plays football at Johns Hopkins University, and earned D3 rookie of the year and first team all Centennial selection. Coach Zane Thormodsgaard was a team captain at Mira Costa High School where he played linebacker and running back, studied Finance at Texas Christian University, participated in the BNSF Neely Leadership program, and works for Goldman Sachs in Dallas. Coach Riley Bloomstrand is a former Mira Costa captain who played wide receiver and defensive back, has been coaching at Future Five Stars for the past four years, and is a student at the University of Colorado Boulder.

The mission of Future Five Stars is to focus on the development of kids on and off the field beyond a 5-day summer camp, and to equip youth athletes to excel in teamwork skills, competitive sports, and enthusiasm for life by developing meaningful friendships and creating lifelong memories. Community involvement includes a 2023 partnership with the Los Angeles Chargers Community Team and BCS Flag Football, and a 2024 partnership with NFL linebacker Omar Speights of the Los Angeles Rams. Camper logistics include bringing cleats, a mouthguard, a packed lunch, and a water bottle.

Parent and camper feedback includes comments such as “Future Five Stars is extremely fun! It was really enjoyable and I always want to go back. All the coaches are very helpful and nice! They taught me how to run sharper routes and throw better passes” from camper RJ Cook, and “Future Five Stars changed my life! I developed a true love for the game” from coach Yosh Feng of the Loose Cannons. Another camper, Cooper Joseph, shared, “Coach Brian inspired me to be the person I am today. I will never forget when he encouraged me to keep my head up at halftime. changed my life.” Camper Charlie Rosenthal said, “The BEST football camp out there! It was super FUN and I learned a lot!” An anonymous camper wrote, “Hey mr. farmer,” and camper Franklin Spencer stated, “Best summer camp in the South Bay. I mark my calendar to show up every year the moment registration opens!”
