About
Boys & Girls Clubs of Manteca and Lathrop offers a youth development program that applies a strategic approach to youth development. The program’s youth development strategy is the foundation of every program and activity offered through the Boys & Girls Clubs of Manteca and Lathrop and is based on four basic principles. The program wants Club members to have a sense of competence, usefulness, belonging, and influence.
• Ages: 6–18 years old
• Schedule: Club hours Monday–Friday during the school year, with earlier opening on MUSD minimum days and daytime hours during summer and holidays
The program serves ages 6 years old in 1st grade to 18 years old in 12th grade, and a parent must provide proof of age and grade level for all 6-year-olds. The mission of Boys & Girls Clubs of Manteca and Lathrop is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need the program most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens. The program’s expectations and goals for young people are that they become responsible citizens and leaders who are able to support themselves and live successful lives. The program seeks to instill in youth a healthy self-concept, a strong belief in self-worth, a sense of hope about their future, and inspiration to set and attain their goals while making decisions to achieve their life plans. The organization envisions a thriving Manteca and Lathrop where every young person feels safe, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential, and describes the Club as a trusted hub for youth and families, meeting needs through connection, mentorship, and opportunity. The Club applies a strategic approach to youth development that relies on the combined efforts of youth professionals, parents, volunteers, concerned citizens, schools, and local community partners coming together to provide a positive club experience for all youth. The organization states that by investing in the whole child and strengthening the families and communities around them, it creates pathways to lifelong success and brighter futures for all. The leadership team includes a Chief Executive Officer, who can be contacted at [email protected].
