Write With Janet

Write With Janet offers small writing classes, semi-private writing classes, private writing classes, and educational consulting. Small-group classes have 3 to 6 students, semi-private classes have 2 to 3 students, and private classes have 1 student. The program also provides guidance through the public-school assessment process, IEP and 504 meetings, and finding outside services that work.

Programs

• Small writing classes — grades 2–8 · year-round; throughout the school year; in the summer · At Janet's home in Menlo Park. Small-group classes are 3–6 students.
• Semi-private writing classes — grades 2–8 · year-round; throughout the school year; in the summer · 2–3 students.
• Private writing classes — grades 2–8 · year-round; throughout the school year; in the summer · 1 student.
• Educational consulting — For families whose children are struggling; includes guidance through the public-school assessment process, IEP and 504 meetings, and finding outside services that work.

About the provider

Write With Janet began in 2011. Janet Rose taught writing in Palo Alto public schools for 42 years, including 34 years in Palo Alto. She has an MA in Early Childhood Education and trained in the Reading and Writing Project at Teachers College, Columbia University.

Registration is closed; this session is full. Registration opens about a month before a session starts. Placement is personal, not first-come-first-served. No tutoring or homework help. First grade isn't offered.
