Mt Tam Bikes Camp focuses on mountain biking and includes teaching mountain bike skills, trail etiquette, bike mechanics, and local ecology. The program offers private and small group instruction, as well as after-school rides and instruction for riders of all ages and abilities. Each 5-day session includes a professional bike safety check, snacks, and a camp shirt, and participants must be able to start, stop, turn, and ride in a controlled manner for 3 miles, with novice riders already comfortable riding a bike.

Mt Tam Bikes Camp has been running since 2006 and states that it has developed and refined its coaching, guiding, and safety techniques over the past 19 years. The stated mission is sharing the joy of mountain biking in a fun, safe, non-competitive environment and providing campers with a safe, fun, and developmentally appropriate riding experience. Founder and lead instructor Ryan Loften has taught Bay Area kids mountain bike skills, trail etiquette, bike mechanics, and local ecology since 2006, has been mentoring and coaching kids for 24 years, and worked as a bike mechanic at Tam Bikes in Mill Valley for 15 years. He is a member of the Association for Environmental and Outdoor Education and has been a certified CPR Wilderness First Responder since 1996. The program states that its staff are outdoor educators with experience in teaching, riding, and connecting with kids, and that they follow all current CDC, California, and Marin County Health and Human Services COVID-19 and summer camp guidelines.
