CampCo Day Camps has been providing recreation services to South Orange County families since 1998 and has served thousands of families over more than 20 years. The organization is a full-service recreation provider offering high-quality, fun, safe, and educational youth programs for HOAs, cities, schools, and other organizations throughout South Orange County. Campers have grown up through the programs, returned to work as counselors-in-training and staff, and later enrolled their own children in the camps.
CEO Sylvia Rosenthal has worked in the field of recreation since 1981 and has earned degrees in Recreation Administration and Business Administration. The mission for CampCo Day Camps programs is to provide safe, fun opportunities that allow campers to try new challenges, overcome obstacles, develop new skills, grow throughout the season and from year to year, be silly, get dirty, show their creative side, meet new camp friends they look forward to seeing each summer, and make memories they may share with their own children one day. For summer day camps, the mission also states that campers enjoy experiences that are normally available at a traditional sleepaway camp, without the worry and expense that may come with sending a child away overnight.
Parent feedback describes CampCo Day Camps as well run and organized, with children who are excited to see which camp friends will be there. Testimonials state that Sylvia and her team are the best and that her experience shows. Parents report that children love the camp, that counselors are described as the sweetest, and that Sylvia is described as very nice, organized, and professional in running the camp. One parent notes that staff members are knowledgeable, pleasant, professional, caring, energetic, and observant, and that counselors know the children’s names. Another parent of a shy camper reports that staff helped their child feel at ease, were friendly, and made camp fun.
