College For Kids has operated for over 50 years. Community Education classes for children and adults are developed and offered in response to community need as identified by participant feedback, enrollment history, popularity of similar programs elsewhere, and current trends. Students in College For Kids can develop their own individualized class schedules from a wide variety of options, and in Summer 2026 they may enroll in a full day of classes that can include before care, supervised Lunch Bunch, and after care. Lunch Bunch is free lunchtime supervision for full-day campers and those registered in morning Block 2 or afternoon Block 3, and lunch is not provided.
Before and After-School Enrichment (BASE) classes are available to Capistrano Unified School District students. The Community Education program complements the academic curriculum by offering short-term, fee-based classes that are not for college credit, and the program is self-supporting, receives no funds from Saddleback College or the State of California, and is separate from the academic offerings of the college.
The program’s leadership team includes Karima Feldhus, Executive Dean of Extended Learning, Categorical; Arron Searcy, Director, Community Education; Denise Ludes, Program Coordinator, Categorical; Ariana Espinoza, Community Education Program Specialist, Categorical; and Keirsten Casaletta, Community Education Program Specialist Sub, Categorical. Saddleback College is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Community and Junior Colleges of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, is a Hispanic Serving Institution designated by the U.S. Department of Education, and was cited by WalletHub as a Top Ten Community College in America.
