Art Time Classes

Art Time Classes introduces students to drawing and painting through activities such as using a charcoal pencil, using pastels, watercolor painting, and oil painting. The program includes a series of painting drills and step-by-step instruction where the secrets of the great masters unfold in class. Students as young as 5 begin gaining a foundation in drawing techniques in their first class and eventually create their own original paintings in whatever style they choose.

Art Time Classes blends techniques of the Great Masters with multi-media technology and uses The Gluck Method art instruction program. Classes use charcoal pencil and pastels to build drawings through simple shapes and create colorful, 3-dimensional effects. Students are introduced to watercolor, including learning about materials and color mixing with primary, secondary, and complementary colors. Students learn techniques used by master painters such as Monet, Manet, Cezanne, and Rembrandt, and complete a specifically designed series of painting drills to build artistic skill.
