Centre Stage, Inc. offers private voice lessons, piano lessons, group performing classes, full length musicals, recitals, community performances, performing arts programming for schools, and summer camp sessions. Centre Stage, Inc. has been teaching performers in Southern California since 1998, with Centre Stage formally founded in 2000 after Keely Milliken began teaching voice lessons in her living room in 1999. The organization states a mission of transforming lives by combining artistic excellence in the performing arts with mentorship, community, and opportunity for children and family, and it describes itself as more than just a studio and a place for all to find home. Its stated values are Community, Excellence, Character, Accessibility, and Empowerment, and its motto is, “Centre Stage kids don’t get in trouble, they’re in rehearsal.”

Founder and Director Keely Milliken is a former Citrus Singer and a graduate of Azusa Pacific University with a degree in Music Education and Vocal Performance, has over 20 years of professional experience in the music and theatre industries, has directed or musical directed over 100 musicals and Broadway reviews, and teaches private voice in the Citrus College Music Department. Acting Instructor Romel De Silva is a professional Filipino-American actor, writer, and comedian, and a BFA graduate of The American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA). Mrs. Milliken received Senator Carol Lui honors for the “Women Mean Business” award for business women in the arts.

Centre Stage, Inc. provides performing arts to the community of Monrovia, CA, offers performing arts programming for schools, raises money to put on Broadway shows and the annual musical review LIGHTS, supports the arts in Monrovia and beyond, and gives the gift of arts education while serving children in the Monrovia area. The organization states a vision to see young people from every walk of life empowered with skills, confidence, creativity, and community through the performing arts, and it states that it strives to make it possible for any child, regardless of background or financial means, to have access to opportunities on and beyond the stage.
