Excellence In Education Resource Center

Excellence In Education Resource Center offers park days, classes, field trips, seminars, a private satellite program, and a Game Curriculum. The program also provides Learning Style Assessments, curriculum counseling, a homeschool bookstore with an online homeschool supply catalog and on-line catalog, and podcasts on homeschooling topics. Seminars cover topics such as CREATIVE HIGH SCHOOL, SCHOOL VS LEARNING, HOMESCHOOL 101, OVERCOMING LEARNING PROBLEMS, INTRODUCTION LEARNING STYLES, HIGH SCHOOL, GAME CURRICULUM, GEOGRAPHY IS EVERYTHING, and INTRODUCTION TO LEARNING STYLES.

Excellence In Education Resource Center is described as the original total homeschool resource center since 1991, the home of homeschool freedom, and the original and largest all-inclusive homeschool resource center on the West Coast. It is also described as the largest homeschool book store and resource center in the state of California, offering a large selection of new and used books and games dedicated to homeschool families, with the brick and mortar bookstore carrying a much larger offering than the online catalog, which represents about 15% of the total offering. The center provides a Game Curriculum categorized by grade and subject for all core subjects, the online “A Self-Portrait Learning Style Profile” used by tens of thousands of students, parents, teachers, and adults, and counseling in office, by phone, and via Zoom.

Excellence In Education was established in 1991 and is described as proudly serving the homeschool community for over 30 years, with over 25 years’ experience in homeschooling and growth from a simple one bedroom office to a larger resource center. Martin (Marty) Forte and Carolyn Forte are described as homeschool pioneers with over 30 years of experience from a homeschool parent perspective and founders of Excellence In Education, and they successfully homeschooled their two daughters. Carolyn was a credentialed classroom public school teacher before becoming a homeschool mom and is the creator of the Game Curriculum, and Martin and Carolyn host podcasts and seminars and meet with and counsel parents.

The program’s philosophy is described with phrases such as “The Home of Homeschool Freedom!”, “Welcome to Excellence In Education, the home of homeschool freedom,” “Bringing the Joy of Learning To Your Homeschool!”, and “Welcome to our podcast dedicated to Making Education Great Again with Martin and Carolyn Forte.” One description states that Marty and Carolyn Forte spend about one hour with parents providing insights and hands-on applications for homeschooling, and another states that they bring a refreshing out of the box approach to homeschooling for all families, regardless of style. Excellence In Education serves the homeschool community, offers field trips, invites families in the Southern California area to visit the bookstore and resource center, and provides services especially for families being forced to teach at home.
