Art of Entanglement Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy

Art of Entanglement Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy offers Kids BJJ, Kids Kickboxing, and Teens & Adults BJJ. Kids BJJ is for ages 3–14 and runs seven days a week. Kids Kickboxing is for ages 5–14 and meets Tuesday and Thursday afternoons.

About the provider

The academy opened in January 2024. Maria owns and runs the academy day to day, and Gabriel coaches the kids. It offers a free class for first responders every Saturday and works with the Monterey Fire Department and the Monterey Firefighters Foundation.

• First Responder Class — Saturday 6:30–8:00 AM · Free; no membership needed
• Open Mat — Sunday 10:00 AM–12:00 PM · For current members; not an intro class

First week is free with no commitment to start; drop-ins are welcome and are asked to call first; no Gi for adults; Open Mat is for current members and not an intro class; children are grouped by age; financial hardship does not get to decide who learns this sport.
