About
Montessori School of Mountain House offers activities that include working with models, completing puzzles, exploring books and projects, and doing arts and crafts. The program follows a Montessori educational approach based on the principles of Maria Montessori, with hands-on, child-centered work in mixed-age classrooms that use a prepared environment with specially designed materials and activities. Classrooms include a head teacher and two qualified assistants for a group as large as 36 students, with one teacher visually observing and supervising at most 12 children in attendance.

Montessori School of Mountain House includes a Two Year Old program for children 2–3 years old and a Preschool/Kindergarten program for children 3–6 years old. The school also offers a Summer School program for ages 2–6 years old that alternates each summer between Solar System in 2025, Invertebrate Animals in 2026, and Human Anatomy in 2027. The school is non-sectarian and is not affiliated with any church or religion, and children from various ethnicities and religious beliefs attend the school. All parents are members of the Parent Association, and each family is responsible for ten hours of work commitment per year per child.
All teachers have state-required units in Early Childhood Education, CPR and First Aid Training, Mandated Reporter Training, and criminal background checks. Most staff members hold higher education degrees and Montessori credentials through Montessori accredited training programs or are currently in training, and the lead teachers are AMS credentialed while all teachers are actively working towards their Montessori credential. All employees, including teachers, assistants, administrators, and supporting staff, receive a full background check through the FBI and Department of Justice. The Montessori School of Mountain House is affiliated with the American Montessori Society (AMS) and is licensed by the State of California through Community Care Licensing.
The school has touchless attendance, motion-detecting hand sanitizers, daily sanitizing and janitorial services, and an emergency disaster plan. Montessori School of Mountain House has served Mountain House and surrounding communities since 2013.
