About
Tracy Spartans Basketball Club offers a basketball program that includes a youth basketball league, basketball training, and AAU Teams. The program is in direct response to the growing number of young people who are playing basketball in local clubs, school teams, or AAU Teams. It provides a basketball program for everyone in the Tracy/Mountain House area.
• Ages: 8–18 years old
Tracy Spartans is a nonprofit basketball club. The coaches and players of Tracy Spartans Basketball Club are members of the AAU (Amateur Athletic Union), which is one of the largest sports organizations in the United States. The goal of the program is to foster a commitment through basketball to young people that will promote pro-social friendships, strong interpersonal skills, and reassert a sense of hope in the future through great sportsmanship. The program aims to identify youths who have great potential and offer a positive support system through AAU Teams, with a focus that is slightly different at each level but keeps the same goal of empowering the young person to make positive changes in his or her life via basketball. The difference between AAU basketball and other basketball leagues in this program is based on the use of full high school rules, with no developmental limitations placed on the game such as participation and no-press/fast-break rules, which promotes competitive play and the broadest exposure to fundamentals and advanced techniques of the game. The program will form partnerships with local students from all local school districts.
