• Schedule: 2026 June 28 - July 4; 2027 June 27 - July 3; 2028 June 25 - July 1
The 77th JEMS Mount Hermon continues a history that began in May 1950, when the Japanese Evangelical Missionary Society (JEMS) was started at Mount Hermon after a group of nisei pastors met and prayed there following World War II. JEMS is a Christian, non-profit, para-church organization headquartered in Downtown Los Angeles, with ministries that serve Japan, South America, and the United States. JEMS Mount Hermon started with just the youth camp in 1950 and has since expanded to six divisions. The leadership team for the camps includes Greg Mah (English Speaker, South Bay Community Church), Ian Nagata (English Speaker, Toyosu Community Church, Tokyo), and Nobuyuki Toyoda (Nichigo Speaker, New Life Christ Church, Osaka). JEMS is supported by an interdenominational network of Japanese and Asian-American churches and individual supporters. According to the program’s own history, God has used this ministry to bring many to faith, to give many the call to ministry at the camps, and to create a community of believers from across the country and across denominations who gather annually.
