The curriculum includes 24 different traditional Korean Royal Court weapons and includes the study of healing techniques and the development of internal power in addition to physical training. Kuk Sool Won is a trademarked name of the martial art organization to describe the martial arts practiced at this center, and it was first recognized by the Korean government in 1963; in 1975, Kuk Sa Nim In Hyuk Suh established an international organization called World Kuk Sool Association. The program offers a free private introductory lesson. The mission statement for Kuk Sool Won says that mental development is of equal importance and that it helps to instill self-confidence and self-discipline, a calm self-assurance, and the psychological and spiritual values traditionally associated with the character of a martial artist.
