About

Mountain Valley Child & Family Services Youth Residential Treatment Programs offers residential treatment programs for youth that include therapeutic programs, mental health services, special education, and related programs. The program includes stabilization, assessment, and treatment for children, adolescents, and non-minor dependents up to 18 years of age. It offers students the chance to work toward their full potential in a supportive academic environment that uses positive incentives for good grades and individualized programs, and services are based on the collaborative efforts of clients, families, placement agency representatives, and staff.

Mountain Valley Child & Family Services has provided residential treatment programs for California children and families since 1968 and is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The organization states that it is committed to assisting those it serves in creating and maintaining a safe living and learning environment that supports health and ongoing growth, and it strives to help children and families reach their goals through a continuum of support, collaboration, and prevention. Its team uses culturally sensitive, strength-based best practices to provide holistic and effective healing opportunities, includes families in treatment decisions whenever possible and appropriate, uses the least restrictive interventions consistent with maintaining safety and effective treatments, and strives to deliver services in a culturally inclusive and linguistically competent manner. Mountain Valley Child & Family Services provides a continuum of care for children and families by promoting healthy, permanent, and meaningful relationships and works in counties throughout California while contracting with 34 Districts/SELPAs throughout the state. Services are facilitated by experienced professionals who are trained to maintain professional boundaries while cultivating healthy, supportive, and appropriate relationships, and admissions are currently being accepted while following CDC Covid guidelines. Admissions, general intake, or RCL 14 programs are led by Rich Felkins.
