Academia Montessori offers a bilingual Montessori curriculum in English and Spanish that includes Environmental Sciences such as weekly gardening, Dance, and STEAM activities. The program uses a hands-on, whole child approach with small class sizes and separate, open play spaces for each program. Academia Montessori is a bilingual child care center with a range of programs, including an infant program for children 3 to 18 months, a toddler program for children 18 to 36 months, and a pre-primary program for children 2½ to 6 years. Each program follows a bilingual curriculum that offers hands-on learning experiences that encourage exploration, creativity, independence, and language fluency. The program follows the Montessori philosophy with a focus on self-directed learning and maintains small class sizes that allow space for exploration and discovery.
The mission of Academia Montessori is to lay the foundation for a positive learning environment by preparing an organized and peaceful environment that fosters concentration, providing materials that encourage discovery and more complex learning, engaging highly qualified teachers trained to observe and understand the needs of the child, and investing in relationships with families through ongoing and open communication. The program states that it is non discriminatory in all policies and welcomes students regardless of race, gender, national and ethnic origin.
The leadership team includes Director Ms. Janice Balgemino; office administration staff Ms. Zavala, Ms. Betancourt, and Ms. Kim; and lead teachers Ms. Lily (Los Infantes), Ms. Marie (Los Pequeñitos), Ms. Priscilla (Los Pequeños Dos), Ms. Alondra (Preprimaria), and Mr. Fabian (Preprimaria). Teachers are described as highly qualified and trained to observe and understand the needs of the child.
