The St. Linus Preschool Program includes structured and unstructured activities, daily snack time on regular days, and a 45 minute nap for children who stay for both sessions. Each family is asked to bring snacks in bulk to be shared during snack time, and children who attend a full day (both sessions) bring lunch. A toddler size blanket is purchased for nap time and is sent home every Friday to be washed, and each child must be signed in and out every day by someone 18 or older who is listed on the child’s Emergency Card.

The St. Linus Preschool Program was established in 1963 under the guidance of the Sisters of the Holy Faith. The program was developed to meet the social and academic needs of children 3 years of age and above and to prepare children for Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten. Its curriculum is based on the CA State Preschool Standards, and the preschool adheres to all policies required for CA state-licensed preschools, as well as the philosophy, policies, and guidelines of St. Linus Catholic School, the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, and the Roman Catholic Church.
Preschool goals include providing a safe, nurturing environment for development socially, emotionally, physically, and spiritually, offering age appropriate activities to aid in cognitive, emotional, and social development, and offering opportunities for parental involvement with their children’s learning and development through many activities. The governing body of the preschool consists of the preschool director, school principal, vice principal, and the parish pastor.
St. Linus School states that it works to advance the mission of the Catholic Church, to teach about Jesus Christ, and to spread the Gospel message. In partnership with parents as primary educators and parish clergy, the faculty and staff are described as committed to educating the whole child, giving students a moral and educational foundation to become faithful Catholics, academically prepared scholars, and responsible citizens.
